The Company
Fire & Steel Theatre Company is aimed at young people aged 14 to 19 who wish to develop honest and truthful acting skills with the aim of working towards performance. Our actors are committed, talented, enthusiastic, passionate and brave, and prepared to be challenged in an inspiring and supportive group setting. Auditions & rehearsals take place at All Saints' Primary School, Marple, Cheshire.
The Director
Carl trained as an actor at East 15 Acting School and The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. He taught drama at North Trafford College of FE and has worked with actors for over 15 years as an acting coach and director. Carl has worked in all aspects of the profession and alongside talent agent Rachel Bailey, is the co-founder of the boutique talent agency, CiekaBailey Associates.
National Theatre Connections
Fire and Steel take part in the National Theatre Connections Festival. Recent productions include: 'THE IT', by Vivienne Franzmann (HOME, Manchester), 'Flesh' by Rob Drummond (Crucible Theatre, Sheffield), 'Blank' by Alice Birch (HOME, Manchester), 'Extremism' by Anders Lustgarten (The Lowry), 'What Are They Like?' by Lucinda Coxon (The Lowry), 'I'm Spilling My Heart Out Here' by Stacey Gregg (Carver Theatre), and 'Same' by Deborah Bruce (Carver Theatre)

PATRON: Julie Hesmondhalgh
Julie is our patron at Marple Drama and continues to offer her support to the work we do with young actors. As well as a highly successful acting career, Julie runs her own theatre company, Take Back Theatre.
